Who keratin smoothing suits
Keratin smoothing is for anyone whose hair fights back — frizz that lifts with the weather, thick or unruly hair that takes an age to blow-dry, waves that never quite sit where you left them. It suits fine and thick hair, straight and curly, natural and coloured; if your hair is heavily lightened, Bobby assesses it first at your free consultation.

Every keratin smoothing treatment is applied section by section, worked through the hair, then sealed with heat — smoothing the cuticle so the hair falls glossy, soft and manageable. Which system we use is decided with you, in the chair.

Does it contain formaldehyde?
The Beox Royal Gold 24K system we use is a modern, formaldehyde-free formula based on glycolic acid — a newer generation than the early Brazilian keratin treatments that raised concerns. Bobby talks you through how your chosen treatment works at your consultation.
Can I have keratin smoothing on coloured or bleached hair?
Yes — keratin smoothing works on coloured hair, and many clients use it to add gloss and manageability between colour appointments. If your hair is heavily lightened, Bobby assesses it first at your free consultation to make sure the treatment is right for it.
When can I wash my hair afterwards?
There is no waiting period with either system — you leave the salon with finished hair, and you can wash it whenever you like. At home, we recommend a sulphate-free shampoo to keep the result at its best.
