Every keratin smoothing treatment is applied section by section, worked through the hair, then sealed with heat — smoothing the cuticle so the hair falls glossy, soft and manageable. Which system we use is decided with you, in the chair.
Kerasilk — from £179 — refined smoothing with a soft, natural finish. Beox Royal Gold 24K — from £279 — a modern Brazilian formula, finished with Amazonian oils. With either system the result lasts four to five months. Bobby recommends the right one for your hair, your texture and how you wear it.

It needn't. Usually Kerasilk at its lighter setting, so frizz calms and your body stays. If your hair is very fine, Bobby will tell you honestly whether it is worth it.

Depending on your hair's thickness, book around three to four hours for the Beox Royal Gold 24K system, and around two and a half to three hours for Kerasilk. How long does a keratin smoothing appointment take?
Depending on your hair's thickness, book around three to four hours for the Beox Royal Gold 24K system, and around two and a half to three hours for Kerasilk. We confirm the timing for your hair when you book, and your consultation is free.
How long does keratin smoothing last?
With either system, the result lasts four to five months, then washes out gradually and softly with no harsh grow-out line. How long it lasts for you depends on your hair and your home care — a sulphate-free shampoo helps it last.
Is keratin smoothing the same as a Brazilian blow-dry?
They are closely related — Brazilian blow-dry is the popular name for this family of keratin smoothing treatments. Ours are modern professional systems: Kerasilk, and Beox Royal Gold 24K. Bobby chooses the right one for your hair at your consultation in Wimbledon Village.
Will keratin smoothing make my hair completely straight?
No — smoothing calms frizz and loosens texture rather than ironing your hair flat. Waves become softer and easier to style, and curls relax without losing their character. If you want a sleeker, straighter fall, tell Bobby at your consultation and he will shape the treatment to suit.
Does it contain formaldehyde?
Formaldehyde is a prohibited ingredient in cosmetics in the UK, and neither of our systems is one of the formaldehyde-based Brazilian keratins of the past — both are modern professional smoothing formulas of a newer generation. We are happy to show you the product information for either system at your consultation.
Can I have keratin smoothing on coloured or bleached hair?
Yes — keratin smoothing works on coloured hair, and many clients use it to add gloss and manageability between colour appointments. If your hair is heavily lightened, Bobby assesses it first at your free consultation to make sure the treatment is right for it.
When can I wash my hair afterwards?
There is no waiting period with either system — you leave the salon with finished hair, and you can wash it whenever you like. At home, we recommend a sulphate-free shampoo to keep the result at its best.
Will keratin smoothing make fine hair flat?
It needn't. For fine hair Bobby usually recommends Kerasilk at its lighter setting, which calms frizz and keeps your body. If your hair is very fine, he will tell you honestly at your free consultation whether it is worth it.
Can I colour my hair the same day as keratin smoothing?
Colour comes first, and it can often be done on the same day — Bobby decides at your consultation, as there are exceptions. Afterwards, leave two weeks before your next colour, so the smoothing settles.
Does keratin smoothing damage hair?
Keratin smoothing is semi-permanent: it washes out over four to five months and does not change your hair's structure the way a permanent straightening or relaxer does. What can harm hair is heat on lengths that are already fragile — which is why lightened hair is assessed first, and why both systems have a gentler protocol for it. If your hair is not strong enough, Bobby will say so.
Can I have keratin smoothing if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
We ask you to wait until afterwards. The usual advice is to check with your doctor first, and we would rather you came to us without a worry. Your consultation is free, so you can plan ahead.
Can I swim afterwards, and how soon before a holiday should I book?
Yes — but chlorine and salt water shorten the life of any smoothing treatment, so rinse your hair with fresh water before and after swimming, or wear a cap. There is no waiting period with either of our systems, so you can have it done shortly before you travel.
How often can I have keratin smoothing?
When the result has faded — for most clients, every four to five months. Having it sooner brings no benefit, and Bobby will tell you when your hair is ready.
