A full blonde transformation at The Village Edit in Wimbledon Village starts from £348 altogether: Hair Pre-Lightening from £120, Full-Head Balayage or Full-Head Highlights from £159, a toner at £28 with your colour service, and Olaplex bond care from £41. Can I go from dark hair to blonde in one appointment?
It depends on where your hair starts. Lighter and mid-brown bases can often reach a beautiful blonde in a single session. Very dark or previously coloured hair is taken lighter in stages, several weeks apart, so it stays strong and healthy. Bobby assesses your hair at a free consultation and tells you honestly which you are before you commit.
How long does a blonde transformation take?
A first blonde transformation is usually the longest appointment on our colour menu — plan for an afternoon. If your base needs more than one lightening visit, the sessions are spaced several weeks apart to protect your hair. Bobby confirms your timings at your consultation so you can plan your day.
Can I go blonde over box dye or previously coloured hair?
Usually yes — but previously coloured hair needs an honest assessment first, because old colour lifts unevenly. Bobby examines your hair at a free consultation, and where old colour needs correcting first, colour correction is quoted separately after that assessment. No guesswork, and no promises your hair cannot keep.
Balayage or highlights — which is right for going blonde?
Both reach blonde beautifully; they differ in finish and upkeep. Balayage is hand-painted for a soft, lived-in blonde that grows out gently, while highlights use foils for a brighter, more uniform, all-over lift. Both start from £159 as part of your transformation, and Bobby recommends the right finish for your hair at your consultation.
Will going blonde damage my hair?
Lightening is the most demanding thing hair is asked to do, which is why we protect it at every step with Olaplex and Kérastase bond care, and why Bobby lifts only what your hair can take healthily — in stages where needed. That is also the reason we stage very dark bases over more than one visit rather than forcing the lift in a day.
How do I stop my blonde going brassy?
Brassiness is warmth returning as the toner softens. Your shade is set with a toner on the day, then kept cool with a violet shampoo once or twice a week at home and a toner or gloss refresh every few months. We recommend the right care for your shade at your appointment.
How often will my blonde need refreshing?
A toner or gloss every few months keeps the shade fresh. If your finish is balayage, most clients return every three to four months; foil highlights are refreshed more often. Your upkeep is part of the plan Bobby talks through at your consultation, so there are no surprises.
Do I need a patch test before going blonde?

Keeping your blonde bright
Blonde stays beautiful with a little intention: a sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo, a violet shampoo once or twice a week to keep warmth away, a weekly bond or moisture treatment, and protection from heat. A toner or gloss every few months refreshes the shade between visits — we recommend the right care for your blonde before you leave the chair.
