What we colour
Hair colour suits everyone, because it is mixed for you. Choose a full-head colour for a rich, even result from root to tip; a root or regrowth colour to refresh your base between full appointments; or a semi-permanent gloss to add shine, tone and depth with no harsh regrowth line.
For grey hair, we can blend it softly for a natural look or cover it completely — whatever you prefer. And if you would rather avoid ammonia, we offer an ammonia-free option. Our colour specialist Bobby matches the shade to your skin tone and recommends what suits your hair, your lifestyle and the upkeep you want.
Colour matched to you
Bobby mixes every colour by eye, matched to your skin tone and the light you live in — not a number on a tube. Your hair is cared for throughout with Olaplex and Kérastase bond care for strength, softness and shine, and finished with a gloss or toner to perfect the tone.
It is colour led by consultation, not by a swatch. We take the time to understand the shade you want and what your hair can take healthily, then mix it in real time, for you, in the chair.

Hair colour — your questions
How much is hair colour in Wimbledon Village?
Hair colour at The Village Edit in Wimbledon Village starts from £84 for a full-head colour, with root or regrowth colour from £69 and semi-permanent glossing from £65. A toner is £28 with a colour service. Your precise price is confirmed free at your consultation, with no obligation.
Do you cover or blend grey hair?
Yes — we can blend greys softly for a natural look or cover them completely, whatever you prefer. Bobby matches the shade to your skin tone and recommends the right approach at your free consultation in Wimbledon Village.
What's the difference between permanent and semi-permanent colour?
Permanent colour gives full, long-lasting coverage and starts from £84. Semi-permanent colour (also from £84) and glossing (from £65) are gentler, add shine and tone, and fade softly with no harsh regrowth line. Bobby recommends the right one for your hair at your consultation.
Can I have just my roots or regrowth done?
Yes — a root or regrowth colour from £69 refreshes your base between full-head colours, so your colour stays looking fresh for less.
Will colouring damage my hair?
We protect your hair throughout with Olaplex and Kérastase bond care for strength, softness and shine, and we offer an ammonia-free option. Bobby keeps every service within what your hair can take healthily.
How long does a full-head colour take?
A full-head colour at The Village Edit takes from around 1 hour 15 minutes on its own, or about 2 hours with a cut and blow-dry, depending on your hair. Your stylist confirms the timing at your consultation so you can plan your day.
What's the difference between hair colour, balayage and highlights?
Full-head colour gives an even, all-over result; balayage is hand-painted freehand for a soft, lived-in lift; and highlights use foils for brightness and dimension. See our balayage and highlights pages, or Bobby will recommend the right one at your consultation.
I've never coloured my hair before — where do I start?
Start with a complimentary consultation. If it is your first colour with us, we carry out a patch test at least 48 hours beforehand. There is no obligation — book a consultation with Bobby and we will match the shade to you. For more booking and patch-test detail, see our FAQs.
Is there parking near the salon?
Yes — paid parking is on Belvedere Grove, The Grange and Highbury Road, all via the RingGo app. The Village Edit is at 2 High Street, in the heart of Wimbledon Village, SW19 5DX. See Contact for directions.
Keeping your colour rich and glossy
Colour stays its best with a little care: use a sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner, add a weekly bond or moisture treatment, and protect the hair from heat. A gloss or toner every few weeks refreshes the tone between colours — we will recommend the right care for your hair at your visit.
